Valentines Day: A day where people in love spend time together. Well, not me! This lonely dude went to a concert at the House Of Blues Sunset to see The Dino Initiative Tour featuring Motion City Soundtrack, Set Your Goals, This Providence, and The Swellers. Since I did not have a date to the show, (STOOD UP) I decided to have a blast nonetheless.

When the doors opened, we had a pleasant surprise: The comedy folk group Garfunkel and Oates were a guest opener. Their set was contrived from their Itunes album, Music Songs with songs like You, Me and Steve and F**k You. The Swellers had a high energy show that featured songs like “1999” and Do You Feel Better Yet?” Sadly, the crowd wasn’t really into them, which was a massive shame.

This Providence had the exact opposite of The Swellers’ set. The energy was very mellow, yet the crowd enjoyed every second of it. However, I could not help myself from rocking out to Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing. SYG were next. They chose 9 songs that ranged from fan favorites like “Mutiny” and ”Echoes” to songs from their new album. I always love seeing this band play, and tonight wasn’t any different.

MCS was next and they blew me away. They played songs from their new album like “Pulp Fiction” and my personal favorite, “Disappear”. The show ended wonderfully with “Everything Is Alright”.  Music is the greatest medicine sometimes for a “Broken Heart” and tonight proved it.
